FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We know the process of solar installation can be complicated and confusing. To help clear things up, our team of professionals have answered some of the most common questions we receive from homeowners.

  • Installed at an angle and with a glass face, it is inherently difficult for snow to remain on solar panels. It should quickly melt and slide right off, especially once the sun comes out. However, if it does manage to build up, and remain on the panels, do not hesitate to give us a call and we will come clean them off for you.

  • All our systems are rated for over one hundred mile per hour winds. It does not matter if it is a ground mount or a roof mount. However, in the unlikely occurrence that a part of your system were to be damaged in a storm, all the panels and components that we use come with at least a twenty-year warranty.

  • Your solar system is tied directly into the utility grid. Meaning your system will not be on during the blackout. Fortunately, we do provide the option to add a battery backup or sunlight package to your solar system that can store or channel energy directly to essential electrical loads in your house during those times.

  • Our installation method allows for continual power, sun up or sun down. Your panels will be tied directly into the utility grid which means that whatever energy usage your solar system does not meet, your utilities will still be covering.

  • Eighty percent of Missouri’s energy needs are met through the use of coal, by going solar you help reduce the amount of coal needed, and the number of harmful emissions being released into the environment.

  • On average, a homeowner can save over $1000 annually by switching. However, with the size and needs of each home being different, the number could be different for everyone. If you would like to determine a more exact savings for you, please reach out to us and we’ll talk through the size and type of system that will work for you.

  • There should not be much expense on maintenance for your panels. The most maintenance a homeowner should expect is to occasionally clean them off. The cleaner the face of the panels - the more energy produced. Soap and water work great. If you need or would like assistance, give us a call and we can come out and help take care of it for you.

  • Yes. Solar can increase the value of your property up to 15%.

  • Courtesy of the Inflation Reduction Act passed by the current administration, solar systems are more affordable for homeowners now through 2032. By switching to solar, you could get up to 30% back on your system.

    HOW IT WORKS:

The solar investment tax credit (ITC) is a dollar for dollar reduction in the amount of income tax you owe.

For example, if it costs you $20,000 to install a solar system - you will have $6,000 (30% of 20k) as credit towards paying your income taxes.

So, let's say you owe $10,000 in income taxes for 2022. You can subtract $6,000 ITC. Meaning you would owe $4,000 instead of $10,000 for that tax year.

Note: Terms & Conditions may apply. Eligible only for those w/ taxable income.

  • We do ask that for the safety of our installers that the land for the ground mount be as clear and safe as possible. This ensures a smooth, safe, and efficient install that will get you producing solar as quickly as possible. If you have any questions or are unsure of what area of land to use, we are more than happy to come to your house and discuss with you the best placement of the mount based on efficiency of solar production and ease of install before you sign any paperwork.

  • Not at all. It is your home and your system. We actually prefer a homeowner to be present in case we have any questions about the layout or positions of external boxes, or to see if you have any preferences.
